Children are a vital part of the life of Westminster. Children are welcome in worship and at all activities of the congregation. Children ages 3 to 12 are invited to attend Godly Play following the Childrens' Sermon during worship. We also have a loving nursery for children under age three which is open during worship. Spiritual formation continues for children as they enter the youth group.
Adults are offered a variety of groups for engagement in bible study, hobbies and leadership. These include prayer circles, quilting circles, Men's breakfast group and Sunday school.
Foundational to our mission is the prioritization of spiritual formation classes and opportunities for people of all ages. These take the form of Sunday school classes, Tuesday Nights Together, circle groups, worship and bible study.
Westminster is committed to the service of others without regard to age, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, economic status, religious affiliation or housing status. The congregation engages in monthly service opportunities and the youth group sets aside time each summer for a mission trip. We partner with area non-profits who treat others with dignity and respect to address homelessness, hunger, literacy, and who create safe and supportive environments for marginalized population in our community
The youth group at WPC meets every Tuesday at 5:30pm during the school year, alternating between WPC and The United Churches of Olympia. All youth in 6th-12th grade are welcome to participate. Our group is committed to service, bible study, worship and fellowship.
Music is a key part of worship and community at Westminster. We recognize that music is a way to present and proclaim the Word of God, a way to pray, and a way to respond to God's love. We offer a sanctuary choir, bell choir, and praise team. Members of all ages are invited to participate.
Garden of Weedin'
The Garden of Weedin' is a community garden that donates 10% of its harvest to the Thurston County Food Bank. We are committed to creating community, feeding the hungry and growing healthy, nutritious food for ourselves and others.
With the support of the Pastor, Deacons and Stephen ministers, Westminster is able to provide support to congregants experiencing stress and tramua in the lives of their family.
