MEET OUR STAFF

Reverend Therin Fenner

Pastor and Head of Staff

Therin Jones Fenner hails from Nashville, Tennessee by way of a few other places. Prior to joining the staff at Westminster, she worked in the consulting and nonprofit industries. She also spent a year in new church development in Mukilteo, Wash. In her unscheduled time, she loves getting to know her neighbors, reading, making lists, and watching her two toddler sons zoom by on their balance bikes. She’s married to Alex, her college sweetheart—who still finishes her crossword puzzles.

Lara Crutsinger-Perry

Youth Ministry Coordinator

Lara joined the staff of Westminster in 2011. Lara is an ordained pastor in the United Church of Christ. Lara is commited to creating an open and affirming youth group for any young person in grades 6-12. Working together with youth and their families, Lara seeks to provide a meaningful application of the scripture for modern young people. She most enjoys when we get out of the building and serve the community and build relationships with each other. Transplants to Washington State, Lara and her wife and 2 children are building a hobby farm with chickens, goats, and a host of other critters.

Sarah Eaton

Parish Coordinator

Sarah graduated from Trinity Lutheran College in 2007 with a BA in Biblical Studies. She spends her free time writing novels, painting, and reading anything that piques her interest.  Sarah and her husband, Steven, along with their beagle, Emmie, have lived in Olympia since November 2017.  The couple welcomed their first child, Sebastian, in December of 2018.

Clara Johnson

Director of Music Ministries

Clara is thrilled to be the new Director of Music Ministries at WPC!  She recently graduated with her MA in Choral Conducting from Western Washington University and moved to Olympia this past August with her husband, Trevor.  Clara believes that music, specifically singing, should be accessible to everyone no matter what their age or musical background.  The scriptures tell us to "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord" and Clara hopes to embody that fully at Westminster.  Her official office hours are Tuesdays from 9-2, Thursdays from 4-9, and Sundays from 9:00-12:30, though you can expect to see her at the church more often than that.  Her office is always open and her phone is always on for anyone who needs to get in touch.  She looks forward to meeting each member of Westminster and hearing all the wonderful talent this church holds.

Kathy Marshall

Office Manager

Kathy began as Westminster's Office Manager in 2016, following 24 years with the state's Department of Social and Health Services. Most recently she served as Assistant Secretary/Chief Financial Officer for that agency. She has been an active member of Westminster for most of her life and is excited to begin this new ministry as part of the staff. Kathy has a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Oregon and a Masters of Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. Her favorite activity away from work is spending time with her growing number of great nieces and great nephews.

Lawrence Ruiz

Facility Manager

Lawrence came to Westminster in 2014.  He is married to Andrea and has five children:  Cassy, Isabella, Lauren, Jacob and Ariela.  Lawrence loves serving, volunteering and learning new skills.  "God, wife, family is the order to my life."

Leah Wilson

Bell Choir Director

Leah came to Westminster as the Handbell Choir Director in 2011. She has been ringing handbells for over 25 years, and directing for 15 years. Concurrently, she directs Alleluia! Handbell Ensemble of Olympia First Christian Church and the Jeffords Memorial Handbell Choir of First United Methodist Church of Olympia, and rings with the handbell choir of The United Churches of Olympia. She especially enjoys participating in the music ministry at WPC. The WPC Bell Choir welcomes new ringers with or without experience. Together we help each other learn, develop skills and grow in appreciation of God’s gift of music.
